About us

The Center for Preclinical Development is an interdisciplinary platform for translational research in biomedicine affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine  (MEF) at the University of Zurich and the Directorate for Reseach and Teaching at the University Hospital Zurich. It supports academic researchers, startups and large companies with their projects ranging from basic biomedical science to medical device development and regulatory approval. The center is devided in three core facilities: the large animal facility, rodent facility and laboratory facility and provides support with in-vivo animal as well as in-silico experimentation. The broad range of associated services provided includes assistance in writing ethical licenses, support with planning and conduction of experiments up to research as a service. We look back at more than 25 years of experience in veterinary sciences, translational research and biomedical engineering and are happy to support you with the initial project idea all the way to regulatory approval.
